June 28 and June 30, 18:00 National Opera and Ballet Theater Maria Biesu closes the theatrical season 2016-2017 with the opera "MACBETH" by Giuseppe Verdi PREMIERE.
Macbeth is an opera in four acts based on William Shakespeare's play with the same name. It is the first Shakespearean piece which Verdi adapted for the lyrical scene and composed the music based on Carlo Maria Piave's libretto. The premiere of the opera took place at the Teatro della Pergola in Florence on March 14, 1847. A revised version of the work was presented on April 21, 1865 at the Théâtre Lyrique in Paris.
"Macbeth" Opera is a musical tragedy that abounds in bloody scenes, emotions and feelings which grow to paroxysm.
For the first time, the meloman audience from Chisinau will have the opportunity to admire "Macbeth" opera on the stage of Theater of Opera and Ballet „Maria Biesu”, directed by Andrea Battistini (Italy), conducted by Nicolae Dohotaru, People’s Artist, the decoration of the performance is signed by Master Iurie Matei, People’s Artist, choreography by Ada Simona Totaro (Italy), costumes are designed by Anastasia Spataru and the First Choir Master is Oleg Constantinov, Master of Arts.
The cast of the opera for these two days will be different given the fact that this masterpiece has a high level of complexity and difficulty.
On June 28 on the stage of NOBT „Maria Biesu” will perform appreciated artists: in the role of Macbeth will be Iurie Gîscă, People's Artist; Banco-Iurie Maimescu; Malcom-Nicolae Văscăuţan; wife of General Macbeth - Rodica Picireanu; McDuff, a Scottish Noble - Ion Timofti, Master of Arts and other opera and ballet soloists accompanied by the orchestra of NTOB „Maria Biesu”.
On June 30, we will have a Bulgarian guest performing as Macbeth, the baritone Plamen Dimitrov, as well as: Banco - Valeriu Cojocaru, People’s Artist; Malcom - Viktar Navitski; Lady Macbeth - Angela Pihut; McDuff - Nicolae Busuioc, People’s Artist.
"Macbeth" opera features a story about power, war, love and betrayal, and the intensity of the experiences will reach the limits of consciousness.
"Macbeth killed the sleep", and the lack of sleep leads to madness and death. ... Verdi, as a great poet, observes and guides in the night the story of this corner of the world ... He gives us a slight picture of madness for lady Macbeth and the main character- Macbeth, is surrounded by a funeral air bathed in remorse . The rest is history. Other hands are stained with blood: those of the rebels. Justice and revenge. Revenge is the tool of righteousness. And the creepiest thing is the thought that every blood-stained revolution gives birth to a dictator...
